May we return to kindness.

Greetings :)

Wow! A whole month without any updates. To those who care, I really have been tied up with a lot and for that I'm sorry but its GOOD to be back. May is my birthday month so the plan is to just indulge in all things that I love more often than not. Taking some time out to gift myself. :)

I recently heard of a lovely photographer by the name of Harry Callahan and he used his wife as the subject of his images for many years. He died in 1999 and recently she passed on too and the most wonderful images have been released as part as part of Elna Callahan tribute.

I love the femininity in each of the moments, its as if the body is not being exploited but rather celebrated in its most genuine state.

Check it:)

Lets put a bounce in that step

Greetings ;)

I have been so lucky to have been given a load of great music from a close friend of mine. Of that collection is the amazing band Tune-Yards.It seems I have been quite delayed in having them on my play list. Better late than never right?. They are an experimental band that have the some of the most amazing elements in their music which grace my ears everyday.

I really would like to share one of my favorite songs of theirs entitled, Bizness.

Enjoy!!

Have a great week

Greetings:)

I have missed you folks. Things have been a little crazy on my side and so updates have been a little slow. Fret not for I have some great images I came across from the Chanel Fall Fashion Week 2012.
There is a great play of textures this season and there are some great combinations through the collection.

Take a look.

Melodies for afternoon tea.

Greetings :)

Upon my late night procrastination sessions of watching some Gossip Girl, I heard such a lovely song as part of the soundtrack show soundtrack. Now before any judgement presents itself you must give this song a its great Its entitled Concrete Wall and its one of those late afternoon kind of jams. Zee Avi , the artist shows promise as an artist as I have been looking into her other works to see whats the buzz.

Quick Bio: 25 Malaysian singer who released her second album Ghostbird which has the song Concrete Wall. She has been working a great deal of festivals and generating a good crowd following and developing her sound from what I can tell.

The song Concrete Wall :) Tell me what you think.

and a little something extra you might like :)

Dusty truths

Greetings :)

I trust you have had a great weekend. Recently I have had the chance to indulge in some wonderful imagery taken by some amazing photographers. Instead of sharing some of those images today, I would like to share something a little different.

Cordaid, (Catholic Organisation of Relief and Development Aid) is a agency focused of development of rural and victimised communities. Their advertising also works to speak greatly to their agenda but also attack our current social standing.

This is one of my favourite advertisments from their 2008 campaign.

and this is another Cordaid public service announcement image that had me.

Grotesque Monster?

Greetings :)

"The Origin of the Monster" and amazing avant-garde editorial spread that can be spotted in Love Magazine. The spread explores a Tim Walker inspired tale. I have chosen some of my favorite images in this spread.

What excites me about the images is not only the look of model Kristen Menamy but also the follow through of the monster concept. The ability for the model's femininity to prevail in images that do not necessarily embrace such is quite endearing.

from the creaks of the cottage.xx,

Its that simple.

Greetings Good people :)

If one could only understand the level of excitment I have in being back in my lovely little adopted town of Grahamstown. My summer vacation is over and there are so many lovely trinkets I would want to share with the Cloud_Cottage family.

So my day was made by stumbling upon the most wonderful video clip from the series Fifty People, One Question. I do not want to say much about for it really speaks for itself. What makes me feel so giddy about  such a clip is the simplicity of it all and that its in my birthplace Cape Town.

I am no Valentine's Day kinda girl , but this kind of thing works for me. Like on the real.

Enjoy it!
